Moving Forward.jpg

2025 has brought a new focus to the Native American People of the Plains and Beyond. A focus that should have been front and center from its foundation. As we are entering our 4th year of creation, we set our sights and obligations to providing more information, more involvement in our community, providing for and meeting the needs of each other. Native and non-Native alike live in the Lubbock and surrounding areas. We have so much to learn from each other. Plans thus far are to actively participate in offers from Texas Tech University and other schools, to share our knowledge, our history and more. We will have guest speakers, participation in classes taught by our elders such as beading, sewing regalia, conservation, and local history.
There will be fundraisers from time to time as we prepare for future events. If you have something you'd like to share with us, please don't hesitate to contact us.

You can find our contact information at the bottom of each page.

This month we celebrate Board Members Kenneth & Shirley LeBlanc

Kenneth & Shirley joined NAPPB at its beginning. With the knowledge they both bring has been extraordinary to say the least. Kenneth is by far the most knowledgeable in Native American History.  With many years fostered by a native elder, Kenneth has gained information that is highly sought after by many who are interested in the Native American people and their histories. Shirley is the mother of all the ladies, regardless of age. As a Comanche, she is well versed in history, making regalia, beading and more. She is a Navy veteran nurse who still represents her people and service members.
Each in their own way bring so much to this association. We depend on them for their teachings and support.
Thank you Kenneth and Shirley LeBlanc

Reporter Dylan Villa with KCBD News Lubbock contacted NAPPB about scheduling an interview celebrating Native American Heritage Month. To better understand who we are and why we are here, this interview was a gift for the association. We are so thankful that Dylan came to our home and gave us the opportunity to share who we are. Thank you Dylan.
