Native American People of the Plains and Beyond (NAPPB), a 501c3 Non-profit Organization, was formed in September 2021 with four goals in mind:
1. To provide fellowship to all Native Americans and interested non-Native Americans in Lubbock and the surrounding area.
2. To educate and raise public awareness regarding Native Americans in our area.
3. To preserve Native American Culture.
4. To promote traditional ways of conservation.
Membership:
Membership consists of registered tribal members, people of Native American descent who are not registered, and non-Natives who have a genuine interest in and respect for the Native American Culture. More information available on our "Ways to Join" page.
The Association was chartered by the State of Texas in September 2021, as a non-profit organization. We received our 501c3 accreditation on September 11, 2023, and are classified as a public charity organization. Although the Association strives to educate the general public about Native Culture and tradition, we are not a protest group. Each person has a right to form and express his or her own opinion but not speak for the whole association.
Association meetings are held on the third Saturday of each month at 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Meeting Location is announced 10 days prior to meeting date. The Board of Directors meet one hour before each meeting.
Some of our recent activities have included: Induction of new members, a news interview on KCBD News Channel 11 in November 2024, an NAPPB member is being featured in the film "Frontiersmen", and we've had several successful new opportunities arise for 2025 and 2026.
2025 will be a time of renewal with the association attending more community events. If you have questions about this organization, please feel free to contact us at nappbtexas@gmail.com.
